Despite having filmed a Thanksgiving themed episode of 'Glee' (set to air next week), tonight's episode is all about the recent invasion of superheroes in popular culture, the never-ending fight of good versus evil and the belief in the fact that friendship can conquer all. Also that whenever possible, the glee club prefers to be in costume.

The episode opens with a meeting of the Secret Society Superhero Club, headed by Blaine (Darren Criss), AKA Night Bird, and created to keep peace and justice in the halls of McKinley. The lineup includes the Asian Persuasion, Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz), who has the power of manipulation; the Blond Chameleon, Sam (Chord Overstreet), who can do celebrity impersonations; Tarantula Head, Joe (Samuel Larsen), who hits people with his dreadlocks; and Sweet and Spicy, Sugar (Vanessa Lengies), who has the power of money. Whatever that means.

Artie (Kevin McHale) arrives dressed like Professor X, but says he is Doctor Y and has the power of wheelies, along with Becky (Lauren Potter), Queen B who can buzz like a bee, and Brittany (Heather Morris), who calls herself the Human Brain. The group is called to the choir room for an emergency to find that their Nationals trophy has been stolen and replaced with a laptop. When they play the video, its of a Warbler with a pixelated face making threats about how they will win Sectionals.

Marley (Melissa Benoist) and Jake (Jacob Artist) discuss the new superhero trend that has taken over the school and he invites her to hang out at the end of the day. Before she can answer, Ryder (Blake Jenner) joins the conversation and says he already invited her to his away game. They boys start to fight until Finn (Cory Monteith) steps in and breaks them apart.

Finn begins his first ever glee club meeting, which gets off to a rough start when he suggests their Sectionals theme be "foreigners" and recommends they do foreign songs in other languages. The club hates the idea, and Blaine leaves to go get their trophy back from the Warblers.

An upset Finn goes to talk to Coach Beiste (Dot Jones), and we discover she is the superhero club's student adviser, as she's dressed like the Beiste Master and says she has the ability to digest any food and cry on command.

Blaine arrives at Dalton and is introduced to Hunter (Nolan Gerard Funk), the new Warblers Captain who happens to be stroking a fluffy white cat like a James Bond movie villain. We learn he's a ringer brought in from another school to clinch Sectionals. He tells Blaine to leave McKinley since he only went there because of boyfriend Kurt (Chris Colfer) and invites him to rejoin their group. Blaine puts on a Warblers' blazer and the boys sing 'Dark Side' by Kelly Clarkson.

Finn attempts to get the glee club in the spirit by going to their next meeting in costume as the Almighty Treble Clef, who has the power to reunite glee clubs. He announces the week's theme as dynamic duets in an attempt to make the group more like a team. Finn pairs up Ryder with Jake and Marley with Kitty (Becca Tobin).

Jake and Ryder perform 'Superman' by REM/The Clique, but it ends up in a fight over Marley instead. To punish them, Finn tells them they have to reveal their kryptonite (weakness) to one another in an attempt to humanize them.

Later on, Blaine talks to Finn about returning to the Warblers. He explains that they made him feel like he belonged there and that being a Warbler was both a birth right and a destiny.

Marley tells Kitty she doesn't feel comfortable in their skin tight superhero costumes and reveals to her frenemy that she is still throwing up in an effort to stay thin. Kitty promises to be honest with her partner about how she look in her costume.

In the locker room (after Sam's Bane impersonation) Jake tells Ryder his biggest weakness, specifically that being of mixed race and Jewish makes him feel like he can't fit in. He initially tried to reveal this information in a note, but Ryder made him read it out loud, which we later learn is due to the fact that his kryptonite is an inability to read.

In the girl's bathroom, Kitty is in her skin tight cat suit as Femme Fatale, and Marley is in her outfit and says her superhero name is Wallflower. Kitty tells Marley she looks amazing and renames her Woman Fierce. The duo sing Bonnie Tyler's 'Holding Out for a Hero' to much applause. The happy mood is brought down when Finn tells everyone Blaine will be finishing the school year at Dalton.

After learning from Jake about Ryder's problem, Finn brings the boy to talk to a professional. She gives him a series of tests and he has difficulty spelling, reading made-up or backwards words and has trouble reading letters and number sequences in the proper order. At the end of the test, the women informs Ryder he is dyslexic. Ryder tells Finn he will begin working with a special teacher, but when he tries to thank Finn, the new leader tells him to thank Jake instead.

Jake is busy being nice to Marley's Mom (Trisha Rae Stahl), who tells him Marley talks about him all the time, with Jake admitting that he might have ruined any hope he had with her. She tells him not to give up hope, and a group of football players enter and make fun of her weight. Jake tries to defend her which starts to escalate into a fight until Ryder steps in and calls the whole thing off, vouching for Jake and telling his teammates to leave him alone.

Out on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, former 'Glee' cast member Puck (Mark Salling) is dressed like the Puckerman and taking photos with tourists. He gets a phone call from Jake asking if he should still pursue Marley when his new friend Ryder also has feelings for her. Puck suggests that Jake step back and let Marley come to him. Apparently, the Puckerman pheromones are strong.

Sam talks to Blaine about not punishing himself over what he did to Kurt and we get a brief flashback to Blaine right after he cheated on Kurt with the stranger he met on Facebook. Sam tells Blaine to stop making himself out to be the villain and that to exile himself won't fix anything. He also asks Blaine for one day to change his mind.

In the auditorium, Blaine and Sam duet on 'Heroes' by David Bowie, and they go to Dalton to steal their National's trophy back, Blaine's mind obviously having been made up.

Ryder cancels his date with Marley because he has to study and meet with a specialist after the game. An obviously upset Marley agrees to reschedule. Kitty arrives to once again play on Marley's fears about her weight, and Marley invites Jake out that Friday instead.

Blaine officially tells the group he will not be leaving and gives a motivational speech about Sectionals. They give Finn a thank you/welcome present (which includes a treble clef pin), they share a group hug and he gives an even more motivational speech.

The group celebrates their new unified team by singing 'Some Nights' by fun.
