Gas prices have gone up a little bit in Sioux Falls in the last week while statewide the average price of gas is relatively stable.

The average price for a gallon of gas in South Dakota is $2.83 per gallon. A week ago it was $2.80.

In Sioux Falls, depending on where you go, gas is up as much as a dime per gallon, depending on where you go. According to GasBuddy.com the cheapest gas in Sioux Falls is at Costco and Love's Truck Stop at $2.59, Sam's is $2.64, and Flying J is $2.65. The average cost per gallon in town is $2.77. Most places are between $2.68 and $2.79.

Hurricane Florence hasn't really affected gas prices since there isn't much oil refining going on along the Atlantic coast, unlike the Gulf coast in previous years.

“Gasoline stocks in the hurricane-impacted area are healthy, but delivery of gasoline will be an impediment to meeting demand in coastal areas this week,” said Marilyn Buskohl, AAA spokesperson. “As power is restored, water recedes and roads open-up, we will have a better idea of how quickly fuel deliveries can be made to gas stations in that area. And while fuel availability at stations is a concern, AAA expects station outages to be short-lived.”
