‘Frankenweenie’ Unleashes a Clip and Featurette

Tim Burton‘s ‘Frankenweenie‘ opens tomorrow, and we’ve already seen and reviewed it. Our Jordan Hoffman said that it has “craft dancing all over the screen (Mr. Rzykruskiâs mouth!), but the scenario and the writing is all very safe.” But though we were mixed on it, perhaps this new featurette and clip will get you excited.
If you don’t know by now, here’s the synopsis:
From creative genius Tim Burton (âAlice in Wonderland,â The Nightmare Before Christmasâ) comes âFrankenweenie,â a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to lifeâwith just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victorâs fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new âleash on lifeâ can be monstrous.
A stop-motion animated film, âFrankenweenieâ was filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, which elevates the classic style to a whole new experience.
In Tim Burtonâs âFrankenweenieâ young Victor conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to face unintended, sometimes monstrous, consequences.
