PIERRE, S.D – Attorney Marty Jackley confirms today that the following individuals lost their lives in the tragic shooting in Sisseton over the weekend.

Vernon Renville Jr., 31, Sisseton

Candace Labelle, 29, Sisseton

Angela Adams, 25, Sisseton

The one surviving victim, Karissa Dogeagle, 22, Sisseton, remains hospitalized for the injuries she received from gunfire.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of the victims, and the community of Sisseton, who have all been affected by this tragic event,” said Jackley. “Investigators continue to work diligently to sort out all the remaining questions of this heartbreaking incident.”

10 p.m. Nov. 23, 2014

PIERRE, S.D – The Division of Criminal Investigation continues to investigate the deadly shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of Nov. 22, at 604 4th Avenue East, Sisseton, S.D.

DCI confirms that autopsies are being conducted, interviews continue and the South Dakota Crime Lab is working on shooting reconstruction and performing ballistic testing.

The identity of the victims of this shooting will not be released until next of kin notifications can be completed. Those names are expected to be released tomorrow.

11:30 a.m. Nov. 22, 2014

PIERRE, S.D – The Division of Criminal Investigation has located and identified Colter Richard Arbach, 22, Sisseton, as one of the deceased individuals at the scene of the shooting incident that occurred at a Sisseton residence early this morning.

Preliminary investigation results identify Arbach as the shooter, before taking his own life. Investigators are continuing to locate other individuals who may have been at the scene at the time of the shooting for their involvement or their eyewitness account. Law Enforcement does not feel that the public is in danger at this time.

The investigation is still ongoing. Agencies assisting in this investigation are the Sisseton Police Department, Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux Tribal Police, Roberts County Sheriff’s Office, South Dakota Highway Patrol, South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks and the Division of Criminal Investigation.

The shooting incident occurred in a Sisseton residence early Saturday morning.

Four individuals are dead and one is critically injured. The names of the victims are not being released at this time.

Arbach is armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone who has seen Arbach or knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact the Sisseton Police Department at 605-698-7667.
