South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley issued an arrest warrant Wednesday morning for former U.S. Senate candidate Annette Bosworth on perjury charges. Bosworth turned herself in shortly before noon.

Bosworth has been accused of claiming that she was circulating nominating petitions while she and her husband were in the Phillippines.

The warrant was for perjury which is a class six felony. Bosworth will be released on a personal bond.

Bosworth is charged with six counts of perjury and six counts of offering a false or forged instrument for filing. Each count carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
