ANAHEIM, CA -- Former Sioux Falls Stampede star forward Matt Bailey has signed a pro contract with the Anaheim Ducks.

Bailey was an undrafted free agent who recently completed his senior season at the University of Alaska-Anchorage.  He is expected to join the Ducks American Hockey League affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals, for the rest of the season.

Bailey spent the 2009-10 season with the Stampede registering 47 points (14g, 33a) and a plus-11 rating in 59 games. He helped lead the Stampede to a third place finish in the West and a spot in the Clark Cup Playoffs.

The Oakbank, Manitoba native went on to play four seasons at Alaska-Anchorage where he recorded 94 points (47g, 47a) in 138 career games. This past year, Bailey hit a career high of 38 points (20g, 18a) in 38 games and was named to the All-WCHA First Team.
