The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards were Sunday, August 30. This year the festivities were being hosted by Miley Cyrus and Beyonce had a bunch of nominations.

But, what was going on 20 years ago at the 1995 VMAs? That was probably the last time I watch the entire show live. Like most of the 90s though, I don't really remember it. That's where YouTube comes in. Let's take a look at what was going on in the ninety-nickle.

On September 7, 1995 the VMAs were hosted by a still funny Dennis Miller at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. TLC won the Video of the Year award for "Waterfalls" along with three other wins. Weezer also had four wins that night.

Here's TLC's performance from that night where they did a medley of the hits from the CrazySexyCool album.

Micheal Jackson delivered a 15 minute performance at the 95 VMAs of a career spanning medley that featured Slash on guitar.

That year MJ won the Best Dance Video for his song with "Scream" with Janet. Montell got robbed!

Green Day beamed in a performance from Sweden.

1995 was the year of Alanis. She performed her breakthrough song at the VMAs and slipped an F-word through by the censors. Who knew that in just three years she would be wondering around naked.

Wesley Snipes and Patrick Swayze gave Seal the award for best song from a movie.

Weezer accepted the award for Best Alternative Video for "Buddy Holly."

White Zombie won the VMA for Best Hard Rock/Metal Video for "More Human than Human" and performed it that night.

Madonna presented the Best Rap Video, and threw out a Bob Dole diss.

Oh look, it's Cortney Love and Hole.

After the show Cortney wanted to make sure Madonna and MTV's Kurt Loder knew she was still around.
