Flash Flood Watch For Sioux Falls

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Sioux Falls until Thursday morning.

Numerous thunderstorms are expected to track through the region this evening and throughout the overnight hours. Some of these storms may become strong or severe and produce torrential downpours. Given the extreme rainfall that has fallen in areas across southeast South Dakota and Northwest Iowa this past weekend, any additional significant rainfall from these thunderstorms will likely result in flash flooding. Be sure to follow safe flooding and flash flooding rules including never driving across flooded roadways. Be especially cautious at night when flooding is harder to recognize.
