Rapid City says, “Big deal!  A half-inch of snow is nothing.”  Our friends out west are right, but it never hurts to be prepared.

Portions of southeast South Dakota, northwest Iowa, and southwest Minnesota have a really good chance at snow starting early Tuesday morning.  Ranging from about a half-inch of accumulation in Sioux Falls with up to 1.5 inches on a line from Brookings to Worthington.  National Weather Service meteorologist Todd Heitkamp says the first snow of the season is maybe a little ahead of normal.

With the snow arriving, the conditions will not be untenable.  Nonetheless, driving will be a bit more challenging and Heitkamp advises travelers to be aware of the conditions on Tuesday morning.  Another possibility of rain and snow returns for Wednesday morning as well.
