Fire Safety Preparedness with Sioux Falls Fire Marshall [VIDEO]

Fire Prevention Week is officially underway!  Sioux Falls Fire Marshall Dean Lanier says it's  time to focus on home safety.

Dean urges residents to prepare their homes for winter.  Aside from checking on the furnace, it's also time to make sure the smoking alarms are in proper working condition.

Before lighting up, Lanier says homeowners planning on using their fireplace this winter should have the chimney inspected for animals, debris and leaves that may have fallen in.
