A Sunday evening fire caused moderate smoke and fire damage to a house at 5200 South Oakland Avenue in Sioux Falls.

Battalion Chief Steve Brunette says the first Sioux Falls Fire Rescue crews on the scene around 8:15pm found flames coming from the back of the house and the attic. They put the fire out on the outside, entered the house, got into the attic and had the fire controlled in 15 minutes.

Crews stayed at the scene for another 90 minutes looking for hot spots.

No one was injured, and the occupants were out of the house when fire crews arrived.

The fire is believed to have been caused by a propane leak on a gas grill.
