Fiery Crash Kills Redfield, South Dakota Man

A Redfield man died Wednesday night in a fiery one-vehicle crash near a rural intersection southeast of Redfield, in Spink County.

The Highway Patrol says 74-year-old Herbert Blume was westbound around 9:46pm  when his 2014 Chevy Silverado pickup drifted into a ditch and got stuck in a slough.

As Blume tried to maneuver his vehicle out of the ditch, it caught fire and he died in the truck.

The Patrol says no other details were available.
