What do people in Sioux Falls think about fuel tax increase by six cents? The benefits of repaired or improved roads can be a good thing, but the cost hits home. Our news-gathering partner KDLT-TV caught up with several people filling their gas tanks.

Dan Folde said, "It seems like it's quite a bit. One or two cents might do the job and they're trying to raise it to six. After this winter there's so many potholes and the roads are in dire need of repair

Bill Reynolds is glad the improvement of South Dakota's infrastructure is finally being addressed.

"It takes money to keep our roads and bridges, and highways in the condition that we want to drive on. It'll hurt a little bit, but I think it's money that needs to be spent," said Reynolds. "I'm sure for some people though there are other things that will maybe have to be deferred or go by the wayside entirely, other expenses. These things don't heal themselves. They need to be maintained and repaired and improved all the time.So it's good that we're having a conversation about it,”

A member of Governor Daugaard's office has said that the governor will sign the bill.
