It's the end of the year and as a person on the internet it is my sacred duty to present some sort of quantified inventory of things and events. In 2013 we had Captain "Pinky" Picard singing Let it Snow, Ron Burgundy crashing a real newscast, and some other stuff I'm sure. But quite possibly one of the best things this year was comedian Paul F. Tompkins' July appearance on the show Never Not Funny.

First, a little about Paul F. Tompkins. He's one of the best performers out there. He does great stand up, check out this bit from his special Laboring Under Delusions.

He is also an amazing improvisor. This bit from Never Not Funny episode 1302 is one of the craziest, weirdest, silliest things I've experienced. The show's conversation takes a turn into a scene where host Jimmy Pardo plays a casting director who is looking for a new Tide pitchman. Tompkins immerses himself in the part of the dedicated thespian that will make that part his own. Watch it, won't you?

One of the best things of the year!
