Every day, families in South Dakota are going hungry. Parents, children and infants are all struggling to find nutritious and affordable food. Elanco, along with local dairy farmers, say enough is enough.

Earlier this year, Elanco launched the ENOUGH initiative to help supply Feeding South Dakota with dairy products to feed hungry families in need. A challenge was issued to all farmers to take a stand with Elanco. By donating 50 cents per cow on each farm, Elanco would match the donation up to $5,000.

And the farms answered the challenge. Seven local farms in Eastern South Dakota contributed $6,718.50. With the match, the ENOUGH initiative helped raise $11,718.50 for hunger relief programs.

With only about 5 percent of the overall distributed food being dairy products, this donation will allow Feeding South Dakota to secure more dairy products through partners, such as Land-O-Lakes, Valley Queen Cheese and our local food stores.

Elanco hopes to continue this fundraiser in future years to ensure nutritious foods are available to families in need in South Dakota.
