Faith Temple Volunteers Gearing Up for Friday’s Food Giveaway

Pastor Jeff Hayes of Faith Temple Church in Sioux Falls says the weekly food giveaways wouldn't happen without the help of the many volunteers in our community.

"It takes probably 40 to 50 volunteers to have a food giveaway. Of course, a lot of them are from our church.  But, there are many people that just come out to help with the event.  Many are from civic organizations and businesses. Typically, we can use all the volunteers that show up!"

Right now, Pastor Hayes says preparations are underway for Friday's Food Giveaway.

"We are planning on having probably about 15 to 20 thousand pounds of food.  There isn't any reason for people to go hungry in Sioux Falls.  We appreciate people that care about their neighbors and friends---they will come out to get the food and will share their boxes with them."

This Friday's Food Giveaway will be held at the W. H. Lyon Fairgrounds beginning at 4 p.m.
