Empire Mall to Host Project Blue Light Event to Honor Law Enforcement

Tuesday October 10 at 6:30 PM The Empire Mall will host a Project Blue Light Memorial Event in the center court near Maurices and Helzberg Diamonds.

Project Blue Light is an annual memorial event that remembers and recognizes the fallen law enforcement officers who protect and serve communities across the country.

Sioux Falls Police Assistant Chief Galen Smidt, Captain Loren McManus and Harrisburg Mayor Julie Burke-Van Luvanee (originator of Project Blue Light in the Sioux Falls region) will be in attendance.

The Sioux Falls Police Honor Guard and South Dakota Department of Corrections Honor Guard will post the colors to open the ceremony.

Also, throughout the holidays, a Project Blue Light display and tree decorated with blue lights will be placed at the main north entrance of the Empire Mall.
