Eminem is lending new meaning to the phrase "catch a brick." After announcing last week that he was planning to rerelease The Marshall Mathers LP on cassette with undisclosed collectible items, it was revealed yesterday (May 23) that for the cool price of $313.00 fans who purchase the reissued cassette will also receive an actual brick from Em's childhood home, the one he is sitting in front of on the cover of his seminal album.

From Em's official website which is featuring the collectible purchase: "Own your piece of history with an authentic brick from the remains of Eminem’s childhood home that was featured on The Marshall Mathers LP, and its sequel.  Each of the 700 bricks comes with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity featuring Eminem’s handwritten signature, and a plexiglass enclosure that features a commemorative plaque on the side. All of the one of a kind bricks come in a sleek black packaging with custom artwork and a description of the project."

Eminem has taken his merch game to a whole other level, issuing a "Mom's Spaghetti" t-shirt earlier this month, and rereleasing The Slim Shady LP on cassette in March with its own exclusive bundle. A portion of the proceeds from the reissue sales will be donated to The Marshall Mathers Foundation in a continued effort to rebuild the city of Detroit. Whether that was the catalyst for Em's recent nostalgia isn't known, but stans everywhere should be cleaning out their closets to make room for this special piece of memorabilia.
