This election cycle the City is using Voting Centers rather than the usual precincts for tomorrow's(Tuesday) local election. They will be open from 7am to 7pm. Click here for a link to information about the locations. The good news is you can vote at ANY of these locations.

On the School Board side, there is one seat up for grabs. Incumbent Doug Morrison and challenger Roger Russell want the job.

There are three proposed changes to the City Charter, two initiated and two referred measures on the City Ballot.  On the opinion page of this website you can find my comments on each of these issues.

Two At Large Council Seats are in play. At large seat A has three candidates. Challengers Emmett Reistroffer, Manny Steele, and incumbent Rex Rolfing.

At Large seat B is vacant. Christine Erickson and Denny Pierson want that seat.

In the Central District, Rebecca Dunn is challenging incumbent Michelle Erpenbach.

The Southeast District seat is open. Bonita Schwan and Rick Kiley in competition for that seat.

For Mayor, City Councilor Greg Jamison is challenging incumbent Mike Huether.

Because of the number of issues and candidates, voter turnout is expected to be high.

From personal experience, I can assure you of the value of your vote. Forty years ago this month I was able to get into the run-off for the Mayor's because of TWO votes. Relatives of the guy who finished two votes behind me, left town that day and forgot to to vote!
