Ed Sheeran was recently invited to 'The Ellen DeGeneres' show, on which he performed an acoustic version of his '+' song 'Grade 8.'

The charismatic crooner took the stage in front of a lively crowd with just an acoustic guitar and a looping machine, which, as he explained, could create a track for him. The singer-songwriter proceeded to record rhythmic sounds using his guitar and voice, which were then layered and looped to sound like a full backing band.

The performance was filmed as an exclusive for 'Ellen.' "Before you watch me play on @TheEllenShow, heres me playing a track exclusively for her website," Sheeran tweeted to his 3.4 million followers on Thursday (Oct. 4).

The 21-year-old has been on quite the U.S. media run in support of his latest release. He just appeared VH1 Top 20 Countdown and has been making local TV appearances in the last few weeks. The British artist's album, '+,' has seen five official singles, including 'The A Team,' 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You,' 'Lego House,' 'Drunk' and 'Small Bump.'
