The Great Plains Zoo and Delbridge Museum is throwing an Earth Day Party on Saturday (Aprill 22) from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.

A fairy tale theme incorporating conservation messages will offer crafts, games and information about animals at the zoo.  Kids are encouraged to dress like a prince or princess.

Interactive booths from the Siouxland Heritage Museum, Sioux Falls Leading Green and EROS Data Center will offer Earth Day activities.

“It’s a fun party with a great message,” said Elizabeth A. Whealy, President and CEO of the Great Plains Zoo. “We invite families to spend the afternoon exploring the Zoo and learning about all the small efforts we all can take to make a big difference for the planet.”

The Party for the Planet activities will include:

  • Zookeeper Chats every half hour starting at 1:30 PM
  • Frog-themed Bookworms reading program at 1:00 PM. and 3:00 PM
  • Creature Features at 1:30 PM., 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM.

The special events are included in regular admission.  Hours Saturday are from 9:00 to  5:00 PM.
