The Lifescape Center for the Arts is presenting the production Space School Musical this Friday (January 27).

The all-abilities show is the sixth production by Lifescape, and their third children's musical. Space School Musical is a fun, energetic show full of song and dance. The show is directed and adapted by the Dakota Players, along with NASA's Discovery and New Frontiers Program.

Previous Lifescape shows, including 2016's The Wizard of Oz, have all received rave reviews, with attendees quickly anticipating the next production by the organization.

Space School Musical is a story about two kids who are having a tough time finishing their model of the solar system for science class. With less than 24 hours to finish the project, they enlist some help from their friends.

Through upbeat song and dance, the planets, moons, stars and scientists teach the kids and the audience more about Earth's impressive galaxy, giving them the tools to get their project done.

I have been helping out a lovely young lady named Makeigha, by volunteering to be her scene partner in the production. Through the past month of rehearsals, I have been thoroughly impressed with each actors' drive, talent and spunk. This admirable show is one you do not want to miss.

Space School Musical blasts off at 7:00 PM on Friday, Jan. 27 at the Edith Mortensen Theatre on the Augustana University campus. Doors open at 6:30 PM.

Tickets are still available, but they tend to sell out quickly. Purchase at: Eventbrite: Space School Musical. For more information contact Jamie Richardson at 605-444-9631 or Jamie.Richardson@LifeScapeSD.org.
