Dogs are apparently a lot smarter than you may think. According to a new study in the Journal Science, dogs may actually be able to understand language.

Scientists in Hungary analyzed dogs in an MRI, and found they actually could detect the difference between words of praise and words of scorn.

They found a section in the left side of their brain that processes vocabulary, and identified tender tones using a section in the right side of their brain.

The dogs tested were also able to determine when they were being told mean things - but in a friendly tone.
