This wasn't your typical college basketball exhibition game as the University of Iowa wasn't hosting your typical Division II college basketball team.

The University of Iowa hosted the #1 Division II team in the country as Augustana University made its way to Carver Hawkeye Arena on Friday night and left with a huge upset win!

Tom Billeter is one of the best coaches in the country regardless of level and he has built an elite program at Augustana and it was showcased on the major D1 level.

Augustana started off slow as Iowa started off the game on a 8-0 run but Augie quickly recovered and led at the half 40-34.

The Vikings stretched their lead at one point to 15 points but Iowa kept fighting in the second half and cut it all the way to a tie with 20 seconds left but the relentless effort with the continued production was enough for the upset win.

A Daniel Jansen buzzer beater to win the game for the Vikings was the final play.

With a game that doesn't count in regards to actually wins and losses in the regular season, it will be a win that goes down in the history books for sure.

Not only was it a historic win for the program and the school, it was a win that can only be described best as the perfect springboard win to give this group the confidence to chase the DII National Title.

Here's a look from a Iowa fans perspective on the final shot.
