Demi Lovato + One Direction’s Niall Horan Casually Dating

Yes! We finally have an update on the budding romance between Niall Horan of One Direction and Demi Lovato. The pair, who publicly expressed mutual crushes on one another and enjoyed a post MTV Video Music Awards date, are said to be seeing each other -- but keeping it casual (for now).

The busy schedules of the 1D star and the 'X Factor' judge are part of what's keeping them from getting too serious too quickly. "Demi's told the guys backstage she and Niall are loosely dating -- it's casual but they are definitely dating, albeit long-distance," an insider told The Mirror (via MTV U.K.). Considering they each can have just about anyone on the planet that they want, the fact that they're willing to go the distance and remain professional is a good sign.

"He has a lot of great qualities," Lovato said of Horan. "He is an amazing listener and makes me laugh a lot, two of the main qualities I look for." Awww!

"He knows I have a little crush on him, and we enjoy having dinner when we get the chance. We speak and message all the time," she added. However, Demz noted that they're in no hurry to settle down. "I don’t want a relationship over Skype; we are both in a place where we feel zero pressure to rush. We share the philosophy that the right one is worth waiting for.”

Niall may have to wait a while indeed -- Demi recently said she doesn't want any men in her life whatsoever while she focuses on work and recovery. Still, if anyone can sway her, it's probably someone in One Direction!
