The internet is still reeling from Demi Lovato and Kehlani's steamy onstage kiss, and so, apparently, is Lovato.

"She came up behind me. I had no idea!” the "Sorry Not Sorry" explained during an interview with BBC 1's "The Breakfast Show" on Thursday (April 5). “She told me she was going to be watching the show, so I was looking for her, and I didn’t see her out there so I was like, ‘OK, I guess she decided to go or whatever.’ And then all the sudden I feel hands on my shoulders for this song ‘Lonely.’ I look up and it’s her.”

Despite the surprise, Lovato went with it, locking lips with her opening act before playfully straddling her on the bed she was using as a performance prop.

"I don’t know, we just kissed each other. It wasn’t planned. She totally surprised me and it was perfect,” she said. “It was awesome.”

Lovato didn't address the dating rumors that kicked up immediately after the now-viral moment, but based on the women's social media posts, it seems they're friends and collaborators first and foremost.

"[W]atching you every night was a learning experience and you forever have a fan and supporter in me," Kehlani wrote on Instagram. "[T]onight your dancers put me up to this but anyone would be stupid not to jump at the chance to hop on that damn moving bed and grab your face looooool. i love you and appreciate you, beautiful."

Added Lovato on Twitter: "Truly so grateful to have had this extremely special, talented and cool as fuck woman on this tour with me.. What an incredible fun sexy crazy night that I’ll never forget!!"
