A spirited second half for the Delaware 87ers made the difference in a surging 104-87 win over the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Saturday.

For 24 minutes Sioux Falls (38-9) looked like a lock to continue their perfect month of March. The other 24 minutes in particular the final 12 saw Delaware (20-27) become dominant.

That final frame had the Sevens producing a 35-13 scoring differential shooting 7-11 from downtown and 12-21 overall. Conversely, Sioux Falls struggled to a 4-18 finish from the floor.

Rodney McGruder scored 7 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter and Jarnell Stokes finished with 18 counters. A trio of 87ers notched at least 20 points led by Christian Wood with 22, Ty Greene’s 21 and Rodney Carney who once plied his trade in the Association finished at 20.

Sioux Falls will return home to prepare for a Tuesday date with the streaking Iowa Energy who are fighting with Westchester for the final Eastern Conference playoff spot. Delaware will also play Tuesday as host to the Erie Bayhawks.
