DeAndre Liggins Returns to Skyforce after Call-up from Miami
For now, Sioux Falls has another NBA talent in their midst. DeAndre Liggins returned from his second 10-day contract with the Miami Heat to rejoin the Skyforce for the stretch run.
Of course that depends on whether other NBA teams show interest in the 6-6 guard from Kentucky who already logged time with Orlando and Oklahoma City in previous seasons.
Liggins, who was signed to a 10-day contract by the Heat on February 25, appeared in one game with Miami totaling two points and one rebound in 1:24 minutes while shooting 1-of-1 from the field in a, 124-107, win against Charlotte on March 3. To make room for him the team waived guard Tajuan Porter.
He averaged 14.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.5 steals in 35 games (34 starts) before earning a call-up to the Heat and recorded 13 points, four rebound and six assists while on assignment against the Canton Charge on March 9.
As the season winds down, the Skyforce currently have three players that have logged time in the Association. Besides Liggins, forwards Henry Walker and Craig Smith who was added last week are also NBA veterans.
