Following Gov. Dennis Daugaard's State of State Address Tuesday, he held a news conference where he further explained how his $50 million road and bridge funding proposal differed from the legislature's interim committee's recommendation for a $100 million plan.

The Governor also discussed why he made no mention of education funding or increasing Medicaid coverage to 48,000 South Dakotans in his addressed and outlined his ideas in those areas.

He also briefly touched on Monday's federal district court decision striking down the state's constitutional ban on same-sex marriage.
