Valerie Harper, best known for her role as Rhoda on 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show' was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and given three months to live back in March, but that hasn't stopped her from joining the cast of 'Dancing With the Stars.'

Harper, who bravely proclaimed, "I don’t think of dying. I think of being here now," is determined to live her remaining days to her fullest and has already started practicing for the labor intensive reality show.

Sources for TMZ say that Harper and her partner, Tristan, are doing well and that so far nothing seems out of the ordinary.

This is amazing, considering she has leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, a rare form of cancer which targets the membrane surrounding the brain.

Season 17 of 'Dancing With the Stars' will also feature reformed Scientologist Leah Remini, Snooki, 'Saved by the Bell's' Elizabeth Berkley, Amber Riley from 'Glee,' Christina Millian and Keyshawn Johnson.
