Last night on Dancing With the Stars it was the semi-finals and plugged/unplugged night. The couples would do two dances to the same song, but one version would be unplugged.

I have been hard on Derek in the past few weeks because I feel that he is kind of the golden boy of DWTS and gets high scores all the time, even when other dances that are just as good, if not better, don't always score as high.

But Derek and Bethany won me back last night with their two performances to Jackson 5 'I Want You Back.' First of all, I just love that song, so I'm already hooked.

The contemporary routine was especially great. The use of the frame as a prop was executed so well. Told a great story!

Janel and Val have been working their way up the leaderboard and I really think they have a shot to win it! For me, they really showed they were a couple to be reckoned with when they did their Romeo and Juliet performance. Last night was great as well. The Paso Doble was amazing. It went so fast. They ended and I thought, "It's over already." I wanted more. Isn't that a rule in showbiz to always leave them wanting more?

The interwebs were a buzz leading up to the show about whether or not Alfonso was going to dance. He hurt his back really bad and could have possibly been out of the competition. He did dance, but you could definitely tell he wasn't feeling up to snuff. He was very cautious in his movements and little apprehensive with lifts and tricks. However, he did the difficult choreography well and he still scored well. Plus, he cried, which never hurts when it comes to getting viewer votes! However, in Alfonso's video package, I noticed Will Smith was absent! Where you at cousin Will!

In the end, Tommy Chong was sent home. I know I've been hard on Tommy the last couple weeks because I thought he was sticking around past his prime, but he went out with his highest scores of the season. He did very well for someone his age. He really was an inspiration to watch. Keep on trucking, Tommy!
