Losing streaks were on the mind of two Summit League teams Saturday in Indianapolis, South Dakota with a current six game skid in conference play going against an IUPUI team that just snapped a 22-game conference losing streak Thursday and wasn't in a hurry to start another one.

In the end, it was the Coyotes bidding their losing ways goodbye, winning 71-67.

The Jaguars grabbed an early lead thanks to 67 percent shooting in the first 7:30, IUPUI by as many as six.

Brandon Bos keyed a Coyote comeback off the bench with a pair of 3-pointers.  Trey Norris added a steal and layin and a 7-0 run gave USD the lead by as many as four.

Donovan Gibbs' nine first half points helped draw the Jags even; 32 all at halftime.

Tyler Flack led the Coyotes in the first half with eight points and five rebounds, Trevor Gruis added six points and four rebounds, Bos with six points.

In the second half, Gruis took over scoring 12 of his game-high 18 points as USD began the half shooting 66 percent in the first 11:15.

Moments later, Tyler Larson hit a pair of 3-pointers stretching the Coyote lead to ten with 6:00 to play.

IUPUI mounted a comeback, giving USD some anxious moments when PJ Huber and Elijah Ray buried back-back 3-pointers in the final 18 seconds to pull within one, but Larson knocked in three free throws in the final eight seconds to secure the victory.

Larson finished with 13 points, Flack with 12 points and seven rebounds, as the Coyotes controlled the boards 34-28 with 10 offensive rebounds.

Mitch Patton led the Jags with 16 points.

South Dakota (10-15/4-6) is home next week to host Omaha and Western Illinois.
