Something has to give Saturday in Springfield.

South Dakota and Missouri State, the lone winless teams in Missouri Valley Conference play after two games, square off trying to get that goose egg out of the win column.

The Coyotes latest loss came at home last weekend, 27-16 to Northern Iowa.  It was a game played to a near dead heat statistically, but in a couple of key areas, the Panthers prevailed.

I asked USD head coach Joe Glenn about the backdrop for the game, which was the 100th Dakota Days homecoming celebration, and featured a packed house at the DakotaDome:

Against Missouri State Saturday, the Coyotes find themselves playing a team that blew a big lead on the road at South Dakota State last weekend, a Bears team they beat by a field goal in Vermillion last season.

But Coach Glenn says this season's cast of characters is a bit different than the 2013 match-up, and that Missouri State does some very good things defensively

Kickoff is 2:00pm Saturday in Springfield.  The Coyotes are back home next week when they host #1 North Dakota State at the DakotaDome.
