A song like Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody"  is such a classic that it can be reinterpreted in may ways, yet retain the magic that made it such a spectacular work of art. A good cover version of a song can find something in the original that the listener never knew was there too.

In my time clicking around YouTube and scouring record stores, I've come across a few great reworkings of the Queen classic. So, I thought I'd do my internet duty and make a list, here are five that I want to share with you.

Weird Al

The best place to start is with this amazing version by Weird Al from his 1993 album Alapalooza. It's not really a parody, Al does a polka cover of the song. This came out at the time of a Bohemian Rhapsody resurgence in popular culture, thanks in part to the move Wayne's World. And I think it's just super fun.

The Braids

This song is from the soundtrack to the 1996 move High School High. The duo The Braids releases an album in 1998. It's a nice, smooth 90's R&B version of the song. They stick to the singing verses and skip the more operatic parts of the original.

The Muppets

Gonzo+Animal+Chickens=Awesome.

Jake Shimabukuro

Ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro did this cover at TED2010. Beautiful.

Pentatonix

You can always count on Pentatonix to deliver a great cover.

Wayne Campbell, Garth Algar and the Other Guys Featuring Phil

Cover or Karaoke - you be the judge. Either way it's fun.
