TEA - Fire crews from Tea, Lennox and Sioux Falls were called out when a controlled burn got out of hand resulting in a grass fire. The incident took place at 26861 467th Ave in Tea.

Authorities were called to the scene just after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday when the fire began to spread. When crews arrived thick black smoke could be seen.

Crews worked hard to to get the fire under control and it took all three departments over an hour to extinguish the fire. Authorities reported the fire under control at about 3:15 p.m.

The fire burned approximately 5 acres.
