KSFY TV is reporting that South Dakota Congregational Representative and Gubernatorial candidate Kristi Noem wants to invite the NRA to have it's convention in the state.

Noem states: “Oh, I was absolutely serious. We'd love to have the NRA convention here.”

It appears that Dallas, Texas wants the NRA to take it's convention somewhere other than there.

Dallas Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway said. “It is a tough call when you ask the NRA to reconsider coming to Dallas, but it is putting our citizens first, and getting them to come to the table, and elected officials to come to the table, and to address this madness now,”

Caraway is calling for stricter gun control laws and worries about possible protests.

Representative Kristi Noem said. “You know, I’m not concerned about that. We don't go into every opportunity looking for what kind of protests there might be, but I think South Dakota would certainly welcome that convention. That would be a challenge I would love to tackle”

The convention is scheduled to take place in May and is expected to draw 80,000 people and more than 800 venders.
