Extreme cold air will move into the Sioux Empire Sunday and Monday. Like TWENTY BELOW ZERO Sunday night. Oh and don't forget the 40 below windchills.

A Wind Chill Warning is in effect from Sunday until Tuesday.

A WIND CHILL WARNING MEANS THE COMBINATION OF VERY COLD AIR AND
STRONG WINDS WILL CREATE DANGEROUSLY LOW WIND CHILL VALUES. THIS
WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA OR DEATH IF
PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.

So, fill up the gas tank, get out the big coat, make sure to wear your hat and gloves and dream about July. Watch this video update from The Nation Weather Service in Sioux Falls.

Brutally cold conditions will develop through the morning as northwest winds increase significantly. The cold and windy conditions will continue through Monday morning with winds gradually tapering off through Monday night. The coldest wind chill readings will be tonight into Monday morning where most locations will fall to 40 below to 55 below zero. While a few flurries and some patchy blowing and drifting snow will be possible the main concern will be the excessively cold conditions.  -NWS
