The above picture is one of many inspiring quotes and pictures of men, women, and children living with Cystic Fibrosis.

The picture is a little blurry because I took it somewhere along my 52 floor 1,280 step Cystic Fibrosis Climb for a Cure.

About a year ago I saw a music video by One Republic that would bring me into a world of some of the most inspiring groups of people I have ever met.

Like most people I had heard about Cystic Fibrosis, but knew little about it.

I shared the video with a friend of mine and she told me I needed to meet her friend Ashley Ballou-Bonnema which led me further down the rabbit hole.

Ashley introduced me to some of her friends.

Next thing I know I'm on a list for a CF newsletter and a year later standing on the first floor of the IDS Center in downtown Minneapolis, getting ready to climb to the top of its 52 floors.

That's roughly 1,280 steps. 52 floors of inspiration. A dad a couple steps ahead of me was climbing with his daughter when I heard him tell her: "When it gets hard to keep climbing it's good to remember the people we are climbing for."

I was also doing the climb with my daughter and as we made our way up floor by floor it was easy to remember the reason we signed up for the climb in the first place.

There were quotes and pictures hanging on the walls and propped up on the ground at the top of each floor like this one:

"I take dozens of pills and medications everyday to keep my lunges healthy. But, I have bigger dreams than just breathing."  -Kasey Seymour

Life is a series of breadcrumbs scattered in our paths, who knows where the ones we choose to pick up will lead us.

The ones I picked up from the amazing people in the Cystic Fibrosis community has inspired and blessed me.
