Traffic Restriction - West Ninth Street

Starting at noon on Monday, October 8, 2012, construction crews will be working in the middle of West Ninth Street just east of Western Avenue. The crews will be installing a CIPP liner through the sanitary sewer. Equipment associated with this installation will be set up in the middle of Ninth Street.

Traffic will be maintained through the intersection but will be shifted around the construction equipment. No parking will be allowed along the north or south curb of West Ninth Street in the construction zone. Caution and reduced speeds should be used when traveling through the construction zone.

This portion of work is expected to be completed on Friday, October 12, 2012.

Marion Road Traffic Delays

Beginning on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, expect traffic delays on Marion Road between 39th Street and Berkshire Boulevard. The Contractor will be pouring the center turn lane starting Tuesday and is expected to finish on Thursday, October 11, 2012. The Contractor will be using flaggers to help traffic through the construction zone. Please consider an alternate route. Motorists are urged to use caution while travelling in this area.

Bridge Replacement on Maple Street Completed Ahead of Schedule

Maple Street south of Marion Road has been opened to traffic today.

On September 19, 2012, Maple Street approximately 900 feet west of Marion Road was closed to begin construction to replace a deteriorated bridge. The project was scheduled for completion on October 13, 2012. With proper planning and teamwork between Public Works, the contractor (Asphalt Surfacing Company), and the consulting engineer (Goldsmith Heck), construction was accelerated and Maple Street was opened one week early.

Lane Closures on West 49th Street Marion Road to Cathy Avenue

Beginning on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, various lane closures will occur along West 49th Street between Marion Road and Cathy Avenue to allow crews to perform some miscellaneous road repairs in this area. Traffic will be maintained in both directions at all times. Traffic delays are to be expected.

Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction areas and may wish to consider alternate routes. Weather permitting, the work is expected to last one week.

The City of Sioux Falls Public Works/Street Division will be doing concrete repairs in this area.
