Chris Brown Album Spotted in London Store With ‘Man Beats Women’ Label

Chris Brown can seem to live down his checkered past. While the crooner may have moved on from his infamous 2009 incident, in which he viciously assaulted his then girlfriend Rihanna, other people still think about his history of domestic violence.

A photograph popped up on the Internet where a shopper snapped an image of a row of Brown’s ‘Fortune’ CDs at a London HMV store with a warning sticker that reads, “Warning: Do not buy this album!  This man beats women.” Dang! Usually, albums come with an advisory sticker over explicit lyrics — but this one takes the cake.

According to Gawker, the defamatory stickers could have been the handiwork of anti-domestic violence activists who want consumers to be aware of Brown’s violent history. A rep for HMV was aware of the incident and the store took immediate action.

“It was very much an isolated incident and nothing to do with HMV or representing our views,” the rep told E! News. “It would appear a member of the public popped into one of our stores yesterday and stickered a handful of CDs. These were spotted and quickly removed, but, before we could act, the individual concerned must have taken a photo and sent it to the media. To our knowledge there are no further stickers in our stores now.”

Since the 2009 incident, Brown has been taking steps to atone for his behavior, including meeting with young victims of domestic abuse at a Los Angeles charity event. It appears that Rihanna has moved on as well. Most recently, she was photographed giving Brown a smooch at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. In addition, Brown is scheduled to release his new video for ‘Don’t Judge Me,’ which is an apologetic ode for his troubled past.

So the question remains — Should Brown ultimately be forgiven for his past mistakes? Tell us in the comments below.
