Singer Rachel Platten was born in Newton Center, Massachusetts in 1981. She went to college at Trinity College where she earned a degree in international relations. While in school she was also a member of the Trinitones, Trinity College's oldest all female acappella group.

Platten released her debut album in 2003 called Trust in Me. Her second album, Be Here, came out in 2011. She had her first hit with the song "1,000 Ships" off that album. Platten's EP Fight Song just came out.

Her song "Work of Art" was the theme for the ABC show Jane by Design and her song "Begin Again" was featured in an episode of Pretty Little Liars. Her breakthrough song, "Fight Song" is used in the trailer for the CBS Supergirl show.

She's on the road this summer with a stop in Minneapolis for the Basilica Block Party on July 11. She'll also be in Sioux City July 22 with Colbie Calliat and Christina Perri.

Friends,

I am so proud to show you my music video for "Fight Song." This is the first real music video that I’ve ever made and it was an amazing, challenging, exhilarating process...I wanted the video to show you a glimpse into my own struggle, but I also hoped to show that sometimes to overcome battles we just have to let go.

Enjoy and please share! Let’s spread the #myfightsong love and keep encouraging each other to be brave and fight for what we believe in.

LOVE YOU SO SO MUCH!!!

Rachel
