The Miami Heat/Sioux Falls Skyforce partnership has directed another player to their Northern Outpost as former South Dakota guard Charlie Westbrook has joined the club.

On Wednesday, it was reported by Shams Charania from RealGM.com that Westbrook had signed a contract to enter the NBA Development League.  Knowing that Westbrook had been with the Heat during training camp, the chance of having the former Coyote in familiar territory was a distinct possibility.  To make room on the roster, Sioux Falls placed Anthony Mason, Jr. on the inactive list due to injury.

He played two years at Iowa Western Community College then Westbrook went to Vermillion and put up 1009 points.  Since graduating from USD, Westbrook had played internationally in Italy.

Westbrook joins a distinguished list of USD alums that spent time with the Skyforce.  Such greats like Nate Blessen (2001-02), Josh Mueller (2005-06), Jeff Nannen (1990-91), and Eric Powers (1996-97, 98-99).  This marks the first player to arrive since USD made the transition to NCAA Division 1 athletics.
