Minnesota Vikings superstar Adrian Peterson tweeted some good news Tuesday: misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest in connection with an incident in a Houston bar during the offseason against him have been dropped.

Peterson told ESPN's Josina Andrews that he has been informed that he will not face charges. He was scheduled for a court appearance Thursday, but prosecutors apparently felt there wasn't enough evidence against Peterson to proceed.

The charges always seemed both out of character for Peterson and odd in that the police were claiming he had resisted arrest, and yet they didn’t actually arrest him for anything other than resisting. The Houston Police Department claimed that Peterson shoved an off-duty officer, but Peterson always insisted he didn’t push, shove or touch anyone, and now he’s been vindicated.
