A busy intersection in northern Sioux Falls is opening up.

The State Department of Transportation and the City of Sioux Falls say all lanes of the Interstate 90-Cliff Avenue intersection will be open on Friday, November 8.

The DOT says the opening meets the contract's interim completion date for the $17.4 million project.

The project work, which began in April 2013, included reconstruction of Cliff Avenue from 60th St. North to East Dike Place, installation of two new bridges that were reconfigured to a single-point urban interchange, concrete pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalks, storm sewer, water main, roadway lighting, traffic signals, permanent signing and pavement markings.

The DOT says some miscellaneous work will be done yet, with some lane closures to accommodate workers and equipment.
