As the soccer quarterfinals continue in Europe for the Champions League, back in South Dakota, a different type of soccer game will be happening for another type of Champion.

The Marion High School FCCLA will be hosting the First Annual Bubble Ball Challenge on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Marion School new gym. Money raised will go to the family of Brynn Lundy, her husband Tom and their two sons, 13-year old Jamison and 10-year old Jaxson.

On December 23, 2015, Brynn was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer, and with the family having no insurance, the funds raised will help the family with increasing medical expenses that continue to grow during her care.

Bubble Ball is a type of soccer game where the players wear giant, clear inflated bubbles around themselves. The doors of the Marion School's new gym will open at 6:30PM on Friday, April 8, with the Bubble Ball soccer games beginning at 7:00PM. The first Bubble Ball soccer game will be Alumni versus Parents, followed by the Seniors versus Staff game.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for Pre-K through 12th grade and anyone younger than Pre-K is free. Along with the entertainment of the Bubble Ball games, there will be chances to win prizes and Walking Tacos will be available at the concession stand.

Donations are still being accepted and can be made by contacting Anne Pankratz (Anne.Pankratz@k12.sd.us) or Michele Schoenwald at the Marion High School at 605-648-3615.
