And the winner is... BTS!

The mega-popular South Korean music act won the award for Favorite Social Artist at the 2018 American Music Awards on Tuesday (October 9).

Last year, the group of seven became the first South Korean band to take the stage at the AMAs with their 2017 performance of hit single "DNA."

The sad news is that there won't be a live performance from the band this year, due to scheduling conflicts: BTS are performing a show in London at the O2 Arena at the same time as the AMAs. The good news, though, is that RM, Jimin, Jungkook, V, Suga, Jin, and J-Hope still took home the title of Favorite Social Artist.

The category, which saw BTS up against musicians Cardi B, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, and Shawn Mendes, was decided by the fans. Along with New Artist of the Year and Collaboration of the Year, Favorite Social Artist depended on online votes from fans.

Individuals were able to vote 100 times a day using two different methods, for a total of 200 votes per day.

The BTS ARMY clearly came through, and the band can now add an AMA to their growing collection of awards. BTS already has two Billboard Music Awards, both for Top Social Artist, which they won consecutively in 2017 and 2018. They also hold two Teen Choice Awards, for Choice Fandom and Choice International Artist.
