In the aftermath of the recent Boston Marathon bombings it looks as if the city is remaining strong, and only getting stronger.

Just this past Saturday, before the Game 2 playoff between the Boston Bruins and the Toronto Maple Leafs, Bruins fan and bomb victim Jeff Bauman came out on the ice as the Banner Captain to thunderous applause. It was reported that Bauman -- who lost both of his legs as a result of the attacks -- was critical in contributing to the efforts to track down the suspects.

The event, which had Bauman in the team's jersey proudly waving the Bruins flag, was heavily praised by not only the TD Garden crowd -- who erupted in cheers -- but also the Web. Check out a tweet from Bruins photographer, Brian Babineau:

To his fellow Bruins fans, Bauman had this to say:

I want to thank everyone for their amazing support for me and all those injured and their families. I’m making great progress and I thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Please continue to respect our space at this time. I want to thank the Bruins players and organization for the generosity and support for all those impacted. Like all those in Black and Gold, I can’t wait to see them on another quest for the Cup. Go Bruins!
