ABERDEEN - Bond has been set at $50,000 for a man accused of robbing two convenience stores in Aberdeen this month.

Thirty-year-old Travis Atchley is accused of using a knife to hold up The Gas Stop on Monday. Authorities allege he also stole a pickup truck on Jan. 10 and then robbed the C Express North store, without using a weapon. No one was hurt in either robbery.

Atchley appeared in court on Wednesday on robbery and grand theft charges. The American News reports that he did not enter a plea, and requested a public defender. He is due back in court Feb. 7. He faces up to 45 years in prison if convicted.
