BoA, Queen of K-Pop™, is officially planning a return to the South Korean pop music scene.

After reports surfaced on Wednesday (Jan. 11) claiming that the "My Name" pop icon was preparing to enter dance rehearsals and put the finishing touches on a mini-album due out in February, the superstar's label, SM Entertainment, stepped in to clarify.

“We are preparing for a new album, but the comeback date is undecided. It is unlikely that she will be returning in February," the label confirmed in a statement. (Translation via Soompi.)

So, probably not February. Still: she's coming!

BoA's last South Korean studio album, Kiss My Lips, was released in May of 2015, followed by her BoA Special Live 2015: NOWNESS concert to commemorate 15 years in the music industry since her debut in 2001. Never one to be held down to just one territory, BoA also dropped a Japanese single ("Lookbook") later that year.

In 2016, BoA released an excellent ballad in English for the LGBT-themed Japanese drama, Ooku. (Gay icon.) She also released a shimmering one-off dance single in South Korea called "No Matter What" with rapper Beenzino as part of SM Entertainment's STATION project.

For now, let us revisit her last few releases, including "Kiss My Lips" and "Lookbook" — and "Only One," just for fun. Also, enjoy the Instagram video of her rehearsing "Copy & Paste" — an English-language demo version, it seems — seven years ago that she just discovered on her hard drive. Dancing queen!
