Blue Light Ceremony in Sioux Falls Honors Fallen Officers

A ceremony to honor fallen law enforcement officers will be held this evening at 6:30pm at the Empire Mall in Sioux Falls.

Information Officer Sam Clemens says Project Blue Light is an event to remember and recognize fallen law enforcement officers.

Clemens says Harrisburg mayor Julie Burke-Bowen brought the event to this area, and each year the Empire Mall provides space.

The keynote speaker for the ceremony this evening will be Lincoln County State's Attorney Tom Wollman.

The Sioux Falls Police Department's Honor Guard will post the colors, and Clemens says a Project Blue Light display, and a tree decorated with blue lights, will be located at the main north entrance to the mall during the holiday season.
